This RV park is a couple of miles north of I-40, so road noise is limited. Some sites had grassy areas, and there some had shade. There is a nice swimming pool and a large pond with paddle boats where you can fish on a catch-and-release basis. Sites were level but narrow and very close. Picnic tables were in poor condition. Roads are paved nicely, sites are gravel. There were no noises from railroads or airports. Signage was good, and access was not difficult. Wi-Fi & cable TV worked fine. We would stay there again or even several days if we had activities in the Fort Smith area.

This RV park is just off I-40, so there is some traffic noise. This is best as an overnight stop, though it would be OK for a few days. (They advertise that they are the “nicest park on I-40,” but we were not the judges who would have made that choice. Nice, but not the nicest.) There are some permanent sites. Sites were level gravel with paved roads. We stopped when things were very busy in the Elk City area. (The first place we stopped was full.) No swimming or fishing spots, but there is a laundry, exercise room, club room, sauna, and areas for croquet, volley ball, and basketball. We were just there for one night, and did not use any of these facilities. Signage could be better, we came in the back way. Staff was nice, though very busy. Wi-fi & cable TV worked great. Elk City is an interesting town, but we did not spend time there this trip. We would be glad to stay there again for an overnight stay or even a couple of days while exploring Elk City.

This RV park is a joy to experience. Getting to it is a challenge, but the signage is good all the way as long as you watch closely for the little blue trailer signs. The park landscaping is well maintained, with grassy areas, lots of shade, and beautifully maintained sites. There was a trail that may go down to a river, but we did not go there. We saw no swimming pool, pond, or other water areas. Site sizes were very nice. Sites were level gravel with nicely paved roads. There were no picnic tables. The location is just out of town, so there were no noise problems from highways, railroads, or airports. Access was easy, and the staff were very friendly. Wi-Fi & cable TV worked great. We will definitely stay there again, possibly for a longer stay just to relax.

We got to town late, and this was right on the main drag. It was very easy to get into and hook up. Open level sites with good Wi-Fi and cable, including HBO. Honor system for payment in envelope beside park sign. We would stay here again.

This is mainly a correction for my previous write-up where I accidentally put down that they had 6 sites instead of 36 sites. About a dozen are permanent, but the rest were available. One permanent site was home for a law officer, so it's probably a pretty safe park.

Nice park, beautiful location. We had one large airplane come over on take-off before dawn, but that's all. Wi-Fi was weak, and we were too far from the base to use it. (We were at the far end of the campground.) Nice areas to walk either along the Mississippi or shady roadway. Free laundry. Not much shade, but a good overnight stop. We would stay here again.

Nice for an overnight stay, definitely not fancy. There is not much shade. It is right on main thoroughfare (old 66), so there is a little road noise. It is almost next door to Kiva RV Park, but Kiva caters more to permanent residents while Cactus is more for travelers. We would stay here again if passing through.

Lots of shade; beautifully maintained campground; nice staff. Wi-Fi works great! Some distant Interstate noise, but not a disturbance at all, just background. We would stay here again.

An excellent park on fishing lakes (large ponds or small lakes). The park has 24-hour security and a small convenience store. Sites have 30 or 50 amp, water, cable TV, sewer grassy area, very nice covered picnic table on concrete patio, and small trees that will some day provide shade. The playground is simple but nice. Everything is well maintained. Railroad runs next to park, so there is some noise there, but no noticeable Interstate noise and it is far from other noise sources. They are building a commuter platform by the railroad, so there is some construction noise in the mornings, and when it's done the train noise may increase some.

The bad side: The campground is very run down. The office is generally locked, and nobody answers the phone. The swimming pool has not been cleaned or used in a long time. A sign at the office tells rates and provides envelopes and a slot to mark your site and leave your money. There are potholes in the roads, but they are not too bad. Check the electricity before you park and hook up--some sites don't work. The good side: The sites are level and grassy, and the grass was recently mowed in most areas. There were lots of open sites with easy pull-through access. Sites closest to the adjacent motels may be able to pick up wireless Internet (I did). Interstate access, an RV store, a truck stop, various restaurants, and a Super WalMart are all nearby. This is not a family campground, but for a couple who don't need a lot of campground services, it's fine, and the price is low.
